Menopause and metabolic health coaching for women 40–65

Chronic stress and a busy life is disrupting your metabolism.

The Telos Method™ is a sustainable path to restore energy, strength, and confidence for the decades ahead.

Not five rules. One method, built for a real life.

The Telos Method™ is a five-part coaching framework designed for the metabolic realities of a full, demanding life.

01 · Stabilize

Stress and cortisol

A busy, high-pressure life keeps cortisol elevated, and higher long-term cortisol is associated with more stubborn abdominal fat. We start here with nervous-system regulation and realistic boundaries, because nothing else holds while stress runs the show.

04 · Restore

Sleep and recovery

This is the best-evidenced part of the whole method. Controlled trials show that short and disrupted sleep measurably lowers insulin sensitivity. Protecting sleep is one of the most direct levers you have on blood sugar and energy, so we treat it as foundational, not optional.

02 · Nourish

Nutrition, without the rules

No elimination, no good-food-bad-food. We work from what the research supports for blood sugar and satiety, and build habits that fit how you actually eat.

03 · Move

Movement that protects muscle

Muscle is metabolic protection, and it becomes harder to keep after 40. We focus on strength work you can sustain, not a program built for a 30-year-old body.

05 · Sustain

Habits and accountability

The method works because it is small enough to keep going. Weekly coaching and real accountability are what separate this from every self-directed program you have tried.

Evidence-informed, and honest about it.

The method rests on published research, and it is careful about what that research does and does not show.

Sleep and blood sugar

Randomized trials show that restricting sleep measurably lowers insulin sensitivity in healthy adults. This is the best-supported link in the method, and it is why we treat sleep as foundational rather than a nice-to-have. See the research.

Menopause and body composition

Long-term studies with body scans show that fat gain roughly doubles at the start of the menopause transition and shifts toward the middle, while total scale weight does not accelerate. This is why we measure progress by more than the scale. See the research.

Stress and abdominal fat

Higher long-term cortisol is associated with more abdominal fat. The relationship is real but modest, and the direction of cause is still being studied, so we treat stress as one meaningful factor rather than the whole story. See the research.

Questions women ask before they start.

Why is it so much harder to lose weight after 40?

Two things change at once. Hormonal shifts through perimenopause alter where the body stores fat, moving it toward the middle, and muscle (which does much of your metabolic work) gets harder to hold onto. The scale is a poor instrument for this, because body composition can change while total weight barely moves.

Does stress really cause belly fat?

Partly, and less dramatically than the internet suggests. Higher long-term cortisol is associated with more abdominal fat, but the relationship is modest and researchers have not established which way the causation runs. It is one real factor among several, not the single switch some programs claim it is.

I regained the weight after stopping a GLP-1. What happened?

This is common and it is not a failure of willpower. These medications work partly by suppressing appetite, and when they stop, appetite returns while the body defends its previous weight. Sustainable coaching focuses on the habits and structure that hold after the medication, which is a different problem from the medication itself.

My A1C is creeping up. Can coaching help?

Coaching can support the daily habits that influence blood sugar, including sleep, movement, and how you eat. What it cannot do is interpret your results or replace your doctor. Telos does not order or read labs. We work alongside the care your physician provides, on the parts of your day that are yours to change.

How is this different from every program I have already tried?

Most programs hand you rules and leave you to apply them alone. The Telos Method is coached: weekly conversations, a plan built around your real schedule, and accountability from someone who understands this stage of life. It is evidence-informed rather than trend-driven, and it is designed to be sustained, not endured.

What does the Telos Reset cost?

Is Bo a doctor or a dietitian?

Bo Yates is a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). That means she coaches behaviour change grounded in evidence. She does not diagnose, prescribe, or provide medical nutrition therapy, and she works in support of the care your own physician provides.

Begin with clarity, not another quick fix.

A free 30-minute conversation about where your health actually is, and what a sustainable path forward looks like. No sales pressure, no meal plan handed to you at the end.

This is where Bo will reply to arrange a time.

Whatever you would want Bo to know before you speak. Please leave out medical details and test results for now.

By submitting you agree to be contacted about your assessment. We never share your details. See our privacy policy.
